Restaurant and bar POS
Set up outlets, tables and menus, send orders to the kitchen screen and settle to the room, card or cash.
Written for managerOutlets
Each outlet, such as a restaurant, rooftop lounge or beach grill, has its own tables, menu categories and items, opening hours and whether room charges are allowed. Item prices include tax.
Set up an outlet
- Open Outlets & services > Restaurant & bar and add an outlet.
- Add tables by area.
- Add menu categories and items with prices, marking each as food or drink.
- Decide whether room charges are allowed.
Take an order
- Open the register for the outlet. It works on a phone, with the open ticket pinned to the bottom.
- Open an order on a table, as takeaway or as room service.
- Add items. Adding an item that is already on an unsent line merges with it.
- Send to kitchen. Pending lines appear on the kitchen screen, with how long each ticket has waited, and are marked served there.
Settle
- Charge to room: posts to the primary folio of a checked-in booking.
- Card or cash: posts to the outlet's takings folio with a matching payment.
- Complimentary: posts nothing.
Discounts need a reason and the discount permission. Food and drinks post as separate lines so reports can split food from beverage revenue.
Tips
- Give waiters the Waiter / cashier role. It shows only what they need.
- Check the Outlet sales report weekly for slow items.
Common mistakes
- Charging to a room that has checked out. Only checked-in bookings can take room charges. Settle by card or cash instead.
- Discounts without a reason. They are refused, by design.
